Our Intercessor the Holy Spirit [Lesson 4.3] |

Have you ever found yourself without the words to say something? On a few occasions, I found myself in a situation where I didn’t know what to say or found it better not to say anything. For example. One day, I ran into a lady that went to our church while shopping at the mall. I hadn’t seen her in a while so I thought I would try to be nice and start a conversation. Searching for a subject to broach a conversation, I took notice of her impending delivery. I asked, quite honestly, when she was due! Her answer was classic - “I’m not pregnant!”. I didn’t know what to say.

In my spiritual life, I very often come to God without the words to express what I am feeling. Sometimes I feel like I’ve been wrung through the ringer and left out to dry. Other times, I feel like I went 15 rounds with Mohammad Ali. Usually it comes out in one word

ARRGGGHHH!!!!!

Sometimes there are no words.

A death of a loved one.  SIGH!
A divorce.  #$@&*#!
The loss of a job.  OHHHHH!

Jesus said that when He went away, He would send another Counselor. The Holy Spirit represents our needs before God. When we don’t have the words, we can count on the Holy Spirit’s prayer.

Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. - Romans 8:26 (The Message)

So, when the times get tough (and they will) - groan, sigh, ache. Let it out and let the Holy Spirit do the talking for you.

A Blessing

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

(2 Corinthians 13:14 NIV)

What Is The DIP Shtick?

dip · My initials
shtick · A gimmick or routine

This site is my attempt to write down thoughts that bounce around in my head. Nothing in particular. It will normally reflect what is going on in my life at a specific point in time. If you get something from my writing, then it is worth it.

Thanks for reading.
